Abstract
Emission from the 1(MLCT) state of the Ru(bpy)32+ complex have been observed for the first time by femtosecond fluorescence upconversion method. Ultrafast decay components and wavelength dependent kinetic changes have been observed in alcoholic and nitrile solutions. The lifetime of 1(MLCT) state is evaluated to be 40+15fs in acetonitrile.
