Abstract
The main source of generation of superoxide anion radical and hydroperoxide radical is one electron reduction of the dioxygen molecule through the mediation of ubichinone from mitochondrial NADH dehydrogenase and mitochondrial cytochrome bc1. In this work we carried out ab initio and semiempirical studies of the energetics of these processes.
