The sum frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy is attracting more attention in the filed of surface science because of its extremely high surface selectivity and sensitivity. In the present study ,a narrow ps visible pulse and a broad fs IR pulse are employed to generate a broad-bandwidth SFG signal. The molecular structure of a number of self-assembled monolayers and Langmuir-Blodgett films are investigated by the broad-band SFG system.
